Through the Fire

Hello to my very exclusive followers and all those who might stumble upon this blog.  It has been quite some time since I last posted.  Life has been crazy this semester.  Between working, school, and the clinic I find little time for other activities and sadly blogging has taken a back seat to many things.

Let me start by saying that life is overall good at the moment.  There have been some crazy times in the last couple of months that I won't begin to discuss because all would lose interest shortly.  To sum it all up we can just assume everyone has at least a few crazies in their family.  In my case it just seems the majority of them are not all there.

I wish I had more to say, but the truth is my life is pretty mundane at the moment and full of little except studying.  I will leave you with a quote from one of my new favorite authors/poets.  He is quite crude and to some offensive, but I admire the bare truth he has in his messages and how he shows the worlds true colors.

"What matters most is how well you walk through the fire."
-Charles Bukowski

I love this quote because the truth of the matter is we will all face difficulties throughout our entire lives.  Whether it be with ourselves or loved ones, we will undeniably be forced to come face to face with decisions and events that we wish we could just close our eyes and they would disappear.  Accepting that these days will come is the first step and then learning how to be a sensible enough person to deal with these situations is the next.  Going into medicine and being the type of person it seems everyone of my friends and family rely on to be stable has made me realize that the better I learn to walk through the fire, the more I can actually help people.
